From Forties AF to Ready to Mingle: Tanisha Quilter-Williams Continues Building a Home for Black Women’s Stories

Independent podcast creator and producer Tanisha Quilter-Williams isn't slowing down.

After building a loyal audience through her hit fiction podcast Forties AF, the founder of TFP Network is preparing to launch her newest scripted audio series, Ready to Mingle: A Faith-Filled Experience, a limited-series dramedy that explores love, faith, friendship, and self-discovery through the lens of three Black women looking for a fresh start.

The series follows three lifelong friends who swap their annual girls' getaway for a spiritual retreat, only to find themselves in the middle of heightened drama, hidden desires, and transformative lessons about love, faith, and sisterhood.

Think Girls Trip meets Sunday service—with a little romance, plenty of laughter, and enough emotional twists to keep listeners pressing play.

Adding even more excitement to the project is the casting of actress Shar Jackson, best known for her memorable role on the hit sitcom Moesha. Jackson joins an ensemble cast bringing the series' colorful characters to life in what Quilter-Williams describes as "a story about women discovering that sometimes God has a different plan than the one we've written for ourselves."

The launch marks another milestone for TFP Network, the independent podcast company founded by Quilter-Williams to create premium audio stories centered on grown, evolving women—particularly Black women whose experiences are often overlooked in mainstream media.

The network's flagship series, Forties AF, has amassed more than 250,000 downloads, charted in Apple Podcasts' Top 200 Fiction category, earned a nomination for Best Fiction Podcast from the Podcast Awards, and was selected for Gotham Pitch Week. The show's success helped establish TFP Network as an emerging force in independent audio storytelling.

But fiction isn't the network's only focus.

Over the past year, TFP Network has expanded into non-fiction programming and pod documentaries, including UnfiltHER, a conversation-driven series tackling the topics women are often told to keep to themselves. The company is also partnering with Chanel Lumiere to produce and launch Lost in Translation, its first non-fiction documentary-style podcast project focused on understanding and supporting transgender lives through education, conversation, and storytelling.

As the company grows, so does industry recognition. Most recently, Quilter-Williams was selected to participate in the Audacy Creator Lab, a program designed to support and elevate emerging audio creators. The opportunity places her among a new generation of storytellers helping shape the future of podcasting.

And she's just getting started.

In addition to releasing a new fiction podcasts later this year, Quilter-Williams plans to launch the TFP Short Podcast Contest, an initiative designed to help discover and support the next wave of independent audio storytellers.

For Quilter-Williams, the mission remains simple: create stories that entertain, inspire, and reflect the lives of audiences who deserve to see—and hear—themselves at the center of the narrative.

Ready to Mingle: A Faith-Filled Experience premieres July 17, 2026.
